Novice/Weight Champs - Armory The novice athletes have a nice day and garner a third place plaque. Nick Velez, for the 3rd time in 2 days, wins a gold medal in the 600. The 4x200 (4th), 4x400 (2nd) and 4x800 (2nd) all earn medals. Mike Cardona sets a 12 second PR in the 3200 and nabs a 5th place medal. In the weight portion of the meet, the sub-midget 4x200 (3rd) and midget 4x200 (2nd) hit the medal stand. For the varsity, Joe Somma runs a nice lead-off leg in the 4x2 with a 24.2 split. For the 2nd time this season, the sprinters beat out the MD group in a 4x400 showdown. A total of 29 medals were won on the day.  |
